Pdf Summary
This document is a table of contents plus brief summaries of 31 neuromuscular and rehabilitation research articles published between early 2025 and the end of 2025. The papers cover a wide range of topics, including peripheral neuropathies, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), myasthenia gravis, spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), electromyography, pain treatment, rehabilitation devices, and spine care pathways.

Several studies focus on GBS. One examined COVID-19-associated GBS in the U.S. and found it was rare but linked to higher mortality and greater mechanical ventilation use. Other GBS studies evaluated the timing and value of serial nerve conduction studies, early electrophysiology, and investigational therapies such as eculizumab and ANX005, a C1q inhibitor. These studies emphasize the importance of early testing and suggest that complement-targeted treatment may have promise, although one phase 3 trial of eculizumab did not show benefit.

Multiple articles address neuromuscular disease treatments. Apitegromab, a myostatin inhibitor, showed sustained benefit and acceptable safety in SMA, including positive results over 36 months and in a phase 3 trial. Ravulizumab and telitacicept were both reported as helpful in generalized myasthenia gravis. Another study found distinctive immune-proteomic differences between early- and late-onset myasthenia gravis.

Other studies highlight practical rehabilitation and diagnostic issues: baclofen reduced nocturnal calf cramps in lumbar spinal stenosis; needle EMG improved assessment of cervical radiculopathy and motor grade interpretation; dry needling improved pain sensitivity in fibromyalgia; and neuromuscular training improved proprioception and reaction time in older women. Additional work examined assistive devices, prolonged intubation effects on swallowing and speech, amyloid screening during carpal tunnel surgery, and referral patterns for spine surgery.

Overall, the collection emphasizes improving diagnosis, refining treatment, and optimizing rehabilitation outcomes across neuromuscular disorders.
