Introduction

AANEM ELECTRODIAGNOSTIC SELF-ASSESSMENT EXAMINATION

The first portion of the examination consists of 50 video clips with corresponding questions. Each video clip will last from 30 to 60 seconds. The amplitude and the sweep speed are indicated below the video if applicable. The values listed refer to the marked divisions on the screen. The screen has 10 vertical and 10 horizontal divisions. Thus, if the sweep is listed as 10 ms, the entire screen sweep is 100 ms (10 x 10 ms). Amplitude and sweep may change to demonstrate findings in different ways. All questions are multiple choice with one best answer. You are to select the one best answer.

The second portion of the exam is a written examination containing 100 questions. All questions are multiple choice with one best answer. You are to select the one best answer.

2025 Electrodiagnostic Self-Assessment Exam
The Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Self-Assessment Examination (SAE) is an excellent study guide for maintenance of certification or preparing for board exams. The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) have reviewed and approved this product as part of a comprehensive lifelong learning program, which is mandated by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) as a necessary component of maintenance of certification (MOC).

FEATURES

This online exam is 50 waveform and muscle identification video clip questions and 100 multiple-choice questions that test physicians’ background knowledge and the application of neurophysiologic techniques to the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of patients with impairments and/or disabilities of musculoskeletal, neurologic, or other body systems.
2. Receive a coaching report that provides feedback and shows how you compare to other physicians.
3. Take the exam on your own schedule and your own pace.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT
The AANEM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
