Pushpa Narayanaswami, MD presents an overview of infection risks in individuals with neuromuscular disorders (NMDs), including both increased susceptibility to infections and the role of certain infections in triggering NMDs. She will also review evidence on vaccine effectiveness in patients receiving immunosuppressive therapies, and discuss the heightened risk of meningococcal disease in those treated with complement C5 inhibitors (C5ITs), along with key strategies to mitigate this risk.
