Checkpoint: Upper Extremity NCS
Description
This Anatomy Checkpoint is a review of the PNS anatomy of the upper extremity, including root, plexus, and nerve innervation; recognize the use of sensory NCS for the initial localization of axon loss processes; the role of motor NCS for localization of focal demyelination and for lesion severity assessment; and role of needle EMG to confirm the NCS findings and to delineate the temporal features (acute, subacute, chronic, rapidly progressive, slowly progressive). This checkpoint will review basic concepts of nerve stimulation and recording techniques that are commonly used in current practice. The AANEM designates this enduring material for a maximum of 3 CEUs.

To receive the CNCT Checkpoint credit, a post-test must be completed with a 70% passing rate within 3 attempts.
