This digital educational product, developed by Devon Rubin, MD and Jennifer Walkord, R.NCS.T is a unique, interactive multimedia educational program designed to test and improve knowledge in the performance, interpretation, and understanding of concepts, techniques, and interpretations of nerve conduction studies.  This program consists of 22 unique, interactive quizzes incorporating over 600 questions related to all aspects of NCS, including general concepts of motor and sensory NCS and late responses, methods and techniques, pitfalls, interpretation, decision making, practical anatomy and physical examination findings, and basic physiology and instrumentation.  Types of questions include traditional multiple choice and multiple answer questions as well as “pick one”, “hot spot”, and “matching” questions, and include images and videos of nerve conductions. Each question provides an explanation and teaching point related to the question. This exciting program complements the Nerve Conduction Study Trainer program and is invaluable at testing knowledge of all expects of NCS. Watch the brief demonstration video to see how it works.

Objectives: The objectives of this activity are to 1) apply knowledge of motor and sensory NCS, late responses, and practical anatomy to accurately interpret findings and avoid common pitfalls in nerve conduction studies; 2) demonstrate understanding of NCS techniques, instrumentation, and physiology through interactive quizzes utilizing images, videos, and scenario-based questions; 3) integrate clinical decision-making skills with NCS interpretation by analyzing case-based questions and reviewing detailed explanations and teaching points.
