OBJECTIVES: 1) Identify unusual nerve conduction findings that can occur in hereditary neuropathies, including conduction block and non-uniform conduction slowing; 2) interpret nerve conduction studies showing features such as prolonged distal latency, conduction block, reduced conduction velocities, and temporal dispersion.
