Our new teachable moment series covers a range of different neuromuscular medicine topics in short videos. Catch up or relearn important neuromuscular medicine lessons with these videos we will release throughout the year. Follow along with Dr. Alcantara as she reviews some pearls and pitfalls of nerve conduction studies in the upper limbs.
Objective: Learners will be able to: 1) identify and troubleshoot common technical problems in upper limb sensory nerve conduction studies to ensure accurate diagnostic results by recognizing common technical errors; 2) understand how to optimize stimulus intentsity and elecrode placement; 3) distinguish between true pathological findings and technical artifacts and 4) implement solutions to minimize motor artifacts that can interfere with sensory recordings.
