Ultrasound and Electrodiagnosis (EMG) of the Fibular Nerve 

Ultrasound and Electrodiagnosis (EMG) of the Fibular Nerve Training Video is designed to provide an introduction to fibular nerve anatomy and function, electrophysiology techniques, scan protocols, and normal and abnormal characteristics of the fibular nerve and its branches.

Topics include:

  • Electrodiagnostic Techniques for the Fibular Nerve
  • Normal Sonographic Appearance of the Fibular Nerve
  • Scanning Protocols for FibularTibial Nerve Pathology
  • Sonographic Appearance of Commonly seen Pathology Associated with the Fibular Nerve and Branches


Objectives:
After viewing the activity, the participant should be able to:

  • State the clinical indications for performing ultrasound evaluation of the fibular nerve.
  • List electrophysiologic techniques for assessment of the fibular nerve.
  • Recognize sonographic appearance of the fibular nerve anatomy.
  • List ultrasound examination protocols and scan techniques for evaluation of the fibular nerve.
  • Identify commonly seen fibular nerve pathology recognized with ultrasound and apply diagnostic criteria for accurate diagnosis.
