Self-Assessment: NM Complications of Cancer Care | Cardiac & Pulmonary Manifestations of NMDs
From 2023 Annual Meeting Session Content
Course Description
This self-assessment course is created from two sessions held at the 2023 Annual Meeting.

NM Complications of Cancer Care

Familiarize participants with the common NM complications of cancer care, including chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and NM immune related adverse events such as MG, myositis, etc. and review diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and use of current guidelines for these disorders. The session will conclude with real world cases to provide examples of how these principles work in practice.

Cardiac and Pulmonary Manifestations of NMDs
Confidently diagnose and manage cardiac and pulmonary manifestations that commonly occur in association with NMDs including motor neuron disorders, neuropathies, NMJ disorders, and myopathies; and describe which NMDs commonly feature comorbid cardiac and pulmonary manifestations, and the evidence-based recommendations for diagnostic evaluation and treatment.

Objectives:
1. Identify and recognize common neuromuscular (NM) complications of cancer care, including chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy and NM immune-related adverse events like myasthenia gravis and myositis.
2. Apply the principles learned in the course to real-world cases, illustrating how to effectively manage NM complications in clinical practice.
3. Identify which specific NMDs are commonly linked to comorbid cardiac and pulmonary manifestations, gaining insights into the most prevalent conditions.
4. diagnose and differentiate cardiac and pulmonary manifestations commonly associated with neuromuscular disorders (NMDs), including motor neuron disorders, neuropathies, neuromuscular junction disorders, and myopathies.

To claim self-assessment (SA) credit, you must watch the session recordings and answer a post-test. You must get above a 70% on the post-test survey to claim credit.
