Checkpoint: Underlying Principles of NCS
Description
This Nerve Conduction Studies Checkpoint focuses on the underlying principles of NCS with the basic and advanced concepts. This video covers how to identify anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology pertinent to NCS and the individual NCS measurements (amplitude, duration, CV, etc.) and what they indicate. NCS manifestations of focal demyelination (slowing and block), axon loss are covered as well. A number of illustrative cases are provided to exemplify the presented material. Information is given about how the sensory and motor NCS are paired to achieve localization and how the motor NCS are used to quantify the severity of a lesion.

The AANEM designates this enduring material for a maximum of 3 CEUs.
