Ethics Vignette XIX: Maintaining Professionalism: Condescending Physician in the EDX Lab
Description
Ethics Vignette XIX: Maintaining Professionalism: Responding to a Condescending Physician in the EDX Laboratory discusses how a lack of professionalism violates the physician–technologist relationship, the type of professional behavior that is essential to the technologist–patient relationship, and what is appropriate ethical behavior when professionalism is violated. The intended audience is technologists and is also relevant to physicians, residents and fellows. AANEM ethical vignettes utilize true clinical scenarios to highlight common ethical situations confronted by physicians and technologists that care for patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders. Specific application of AANEM's Ethical Guidelines are discussed throughout each vignette.
